I'm falling in love with big voices- Celine Dion, Whitney Huston, Mariah Carey, Jenifer Hudson, Leona Lewis, etc. Oh and that's in order of preference. I find Celine Dion's voice really solid and her voice is more on the higher side, while Whitney sounds projected, sounding like she's singing from the back of her throat but nonetheless wonderful. Mariah has a better voice than Whitney Huston but I sort of prefers Whitney's songs more. Mariah has an incredible voice- powerful and light. As for Jenifer Hudson, her voice is rough and really nice when she sings soul music. Leona sang many of those power songs but of course she won't as good as the original singer but her voice is still not that bad. Basically they are all woman with powerful voices. How I wish for them to perform here...Does anyone have male artists with powerful voices?

Exams are nearing and it's getting really stressful. I really want to mug but time had just been used on trying to complete homework which never seems to end. I want time to study theory work and put homework on hold. I just really need to finish revising the syllabus first before attempting papers.

And under my new teacher, guzheng hasn't been all that fun. She's more strict and meticulous in her techniques and I did improve tremendously under her but I don't follow with the way she teaches me. Maybe because we are still quite new to each other but I just don't feel comfortable playing anymore. I just hope that it will get better over time.
Alone - Celine Dion

Celebrated Ann Auntie's birthday at "Blueberry Hill Pub" on Jalan Lebon last night. It's a small pub but I managed to drink some Whisky, Peppermint and some strawberry cocktail. lol Left for "The Crew Room" (Princep Link) at 10.25 and drank lots of beer there. Listened to people sing, played cards, talk till about 2.30am and then was finally home. I have yet to try all the other weird drinks though. ><

Attended my first guzheng lesson by a new teacher. She's more meticulous in her playing and teaching so she sort of corrected many technical stuffs for me. She seems nice yet she seem to be able to demand for what she expects and wants so I'm glad that she's my new teacher. At least I will improve a lot more and play better music. I hurt my pinky. >< The skin peeled off after pressing too hard against the strings for 10 minutes. Ouch!

That aside, I found my interest in flute playing again. After listening to SNYO playing for AYG opening ceremony, I had this surge of passion to practise my flute again. Since I'm no longer in band, I guess I could only practise in the morning. However I could not today as the new JLs did not open the door in the morning. T^T I'm so desperate to improve and so want to join SNYO. *Dreaming* XP

It's the first day of term 3 and what do you expect from a Secondary 4's life? Nothing much, that's what to expect. There practically nothing going on in my school life to talk about; maybe preparing for O's but that's nothing interesting anyway.

The first thing that I saw was Mr Maran and Mr Chong guarding the gate from any invading viruses. They are manually scanning the students with their eyes, like somehow it will help. Identify only the really sick ones, yeah, but most look normal so how? Temperature taking exercise is how. Taking our temperatures two times a day but not all infected will show signs of fever. At least we're trying. Darryl was sent back home for being overly-sick for our liking and we're all living in a epic class of "Bok-flu", "Fan-flu".

Anyway our first lesson was some briefing on H1N1 and one of their precautions was for us to minimise use of public facilities so, according to Mr Ng, "don't go to the toilet to drink water." Huh? Some weird joke that he showered us with. The rest of the day went on with lessons while the other levels had their AYG activities. For Sec4s, somehow, the intensify lessons does not command huge protests. Maybe it's because at Sec4, O Levels seem to be so close and real.

Recess was staggered and the thing that I don't understand is why must the Sec1/3 and Sec2/4 be segregated. It's the opening day of the new canteen food and I've got to say that responses sucked like hell. The $2 chicken rice has a few pieces of chicken, literally. The western food in our school will never be good. What's so hard of cooking proper western food. I mean Rachael Rays does pasta all the time and if she can do it, why can't the vendors? The meat was tough like hell and like what Yu Fan said, "The chicken is too tough to be digested lor, I think I will shit out one whole piece of chicken." Agreed! The proportions are pathetic and it sucks. But at least there was some good stuff- The noodles stall got cheaper and serve larger proportions, and the chai fan stall seem to serve more too. Oh and there's no more ice-cream or snacks and drinks increased by 20 cents. Haiz not only is it more expensive, it's also more troublesome. VS canteen is worse than a Primary School's canteen. I never remembered SAJS food being this bad and it's cheaper there. Looks like the days of good food are over...and where's the Korean food stall?!

Stalls were set up in the canteen in collaboration to the AYG and the most interesting game is...the upcoming Olympic hot sports...Marbles! o.O Yeah I know it's interesting like hell.

I can't believe that we're saying this but we want Uncle Foo back! Let's give the canteen a bit more time and HOPEFULLY things will get better.

Handover was in the morning from 8 till 9.30. This year's Handover ceremony was pretty dull; there was no skit, no video, no section outing; just the handing down of posts. The reason was the H1N1A virus and the band also have practice after that in preparation for AYG Culture Night. While the Sec2s and 3s are practising, the Sec4s are slacking and cam-whoring outside. lol Mr Tan must be pissed at the noise that we were making.

It was a soccer match next while some of us talked, the others played and it was off to lunching at Banquet. After lunch, about 10 of us went to Plaza Singapura with the agenda of catching a movie- Transformers, mostly probably. Apparently, most shows have only one or two slots for the whole day (which is after midnight) while Transformers have the rest of the slots, however the afternoon slots are private viewing ones, so it sucks. Then we went down to The Cathay and the same happened and thus we went back up to PS, still unable to decide what to do. But in the end, only 5 of us from the whole group of more than 10 went all the way down to Toa Payoh to catch the movie. Luckily for us, there was seats available for all the slots so we took the earliest and by then, it was already 3.40 and the show was 3.40. With the tickets, we rushed up and only missed a few minutes of the 2 hour and 20 minutes film. Apparently after ~3 hours of goose chase, we managed to finally watched the movie. We practically went round just wanting to watch the Transformers. (And the slow motion scenes of Megan Fox) lol

Now onto Micheal Jackson. On the day he died, I caught a glimpse of some news about him and I thought that he was sick or what but then I saw Danial's PM, "R.I.P. Micheal Jackson", I went to google and Micheal Jackson was dead. o.O It was so sudden, and even though I don't follow his songs, being the mega superstar, who wouldn't be interested in his news. Despite his scandals (which I think are pretty hardcore), his fans still roam the world and so tributes sprang out as quickly as you can blink your eyes. But personally, I don't really like his MVs, except for the dancing. XP His dances are highly choreograph, yet he delivers them with such naturalness. He's just amazing. (Understatement much?) Anyway people refer to him as "MJ" which I thinks it sounds pretty weird. For the reason that "PJ" are so very close to "MJ". Anyway I was watching "The Fabulous Life of Micheal Jackson" on MTV Asia and the two analysts are so bitchy. The guy kept giving that slut eye look while the woman kept using phrases like, "it's a freaking amusement park for god's sake," and "unless you have been living under the rock for the last 40 years..." so she pretty much sounded like she was bitching. (Weng Lok got some talent here) XP It's definitely a loss considering the fact that his final curtain call league was just weeks away. Imagine the loss of 50 shows...poor producers. But it would, maybe, be a come back for him if he did his first concert after a long hiatus of 12 years. Pity...
